Insurance Associates Agency Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”), doing business as InsurSmart, is an independent insurance agency domiciled and licensed in Ohio (Agency License #1203) and additionally holding a non-resident license in Michigan. We protect your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information in compliance with federal and state laws, including Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Ohio Revised Code (ORC) Chapter 3G04 (governing insurance information practices), and applicable Michigan insurance regulations.

This notice describes our practices for collecting, using, disclosing, and protecting personal information—including nonpublic personal information (“NPI”) under GLBA and personal or privileged information under ORC Chapter 3904. It applies to applicants, policyholders, former customers, and visitors to our website.

  • Complying with regulatory and contractual requirements, including maintaining data records required by our carrier contracts and Ohio

5.  How We Protect Your Information

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical security safeguards designed to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction of your information. Access to customer data is strictly restricted internally to our small operating team for direct business needs. Electronic transmissions containing sensitive data are encrypted.

In accordance with the small-business provisions of the Ohio Insurance Data Security Act (ORC Chapter 3G65), we maintain technical and physical security controls scaled to the size, nature, and complexity of our agency to safeguard your nonpublic personal information. No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Notification of a Cybersecurity Event

If we determine that a cybersecurity event involving your nonpublic personal information has occurred, we will investigate promptly. If the breach meets statutory criteria under ORC § 3G65.04 (such as causing a reasonable likelihood of material harm), we will notify the Ohio Superintendent of Insurance as promptly as possible, and no later than three business days.
